A grassroots musician at the core, Citizen Cope aka Clarence Greenwood is a songwriter / producer who has released six studio LP’s and sold over 1 million records in the US, despite never being embraced by most mainstream media and commercial radio. Raised in Washington DC, his music career took flight after moving to Brooklyn, NY. In 15 years of touring, he has built a devout following, performing at sold out theatres and ballrooms across the country. Over time, Cope’s music has become the soundtrack to the lives of those who have embraced it and he continues to inspire audiences through what can only be described as a deep personal connection.
His first album in seven years, Heroin and Helicopters tackles Cope’s personal struggles with institutional religion, political manipulation, hollowness in the entertainment world, and spiritual enlightenment. It’s named after an encounter with rock ‘n’ roll icon Santana: one evening at the Fillmore in San Francisco, Santana told him to “stay away from the two H’s” - heroin and helicopters - both things having very fatal results with people in music. Cope saw meaning in the comment, reflected in the current epidemic of addictions that plague our world, not just to substances but to conflict, handheld devices, social media, and the lure of not having to work hard to get places fast. He observed a thread being woven, where mass production has trumped quality goods and shortcuts in life have become commonplace, enticing people to step over others for self-enrichment. Where entitlement and greed have become the norm as empathy and awareness of the human condition become an afterthought, the common man has lost his powerful voice to corporations. It’s less a condemnation of others and more an acknowledgement of the part played by himself and the system that we are all forced to participate in- and the hope that we can do better.
Heroin and Helicopters will be released March 1, 2019, on Citizen Cope’s own label, taking control of his path and trusting his instincts.

Whether seen on HBO’s Treme or at their legendary Tuesday night gig at The Maple Leaf, Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band is a true New Orleans institution. Formed in 1983 by the Frazier brothers, the band has evolved from playing the streets of the French Quarter to playing festivals and stages all over the world. While committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands, they have also extended themselves into the realms of funk and hip-hop to create their signature sound. “Rebirth can be precise whenever it wants to,” says The New York Times, “but it’s more like a party than a machine. It’s a working model of the New Orleans musical ethos: as long as everybody knows what they’re doing, anyone can cut loose.” In the wake of the sometimes-stringent competition among New Orleans brass bands, Rebirth is the undisputed leader of the pack, and they show no signs of slowing down.
Following the Grammy-winning Rebirth of New Orleans, Rebirth Brass Band is at it again with Move Your Body, an infectious, groove-laden collection of hip-shakers sure to saturate the dance floor.
Rollicking originals like "Who's Rockin, Who's Rollin'"? and "Take 'Em to the Moon" reaffirm the band's position as head of the brass throne while the rasta-esque "On My Way" and leave-nothing-to-the-imagination lyrics of "HBNS" showcase the unit's talent for penning unabashed party starters.
Boasting a mastery of Rebirth's signature "heavy funk" sound, Move Your Body pushes and swings, leaving behind an 11 track thumbprint, approved by the Frazier brothers themselves, of a sultry Tuesday night spent dancing on their home court at the Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans. |

Great Value EMO NIGHT ft. Neutral Snap & drkrm. b2b Sabby
Friday, July 19th
'Real' Emo Hours provided by an aggressively average cover band (Neutral Snap) & 2 dudes who think they can DJ.
Doors Open at 9PM
Show Starts at 10PM
General Admission, Standing Room Tickets are $4.20 from Announce until we come to our senses because 420. Tickets will also be available for $15 Day of Show if you're not smart enough to get yours in advance.
If you didn't notice that you can just scroll up and buy tickets without even leaving the Facebook event, they'll be available at the restaurant literally right next door to us on Highland Road, over the phone at 866.777.8932 and on-line at www.TicketWeb.com.
Please don't call us and make us talk to you.
Drink Specials include overpriced beer & watered-down liquor.
Listen to Neutral Snap attempt to cover your 'favorite' emo songs, and if your ears aren't bleeding after that, stick around for an 'emo' DJ set, cause apparently that is a thing?
If you have literally anything else to do you should do that instead. This event has zero redeeming qualities. It's not even a real Great Value thing, it's like the off-brand off-brand.
And don't bring your friends because they probably suck, and this is like, totally not their scene anyway.

EYEHATEGOD is Jimmy Bower - Guitar Brian Patton - Guitar Gary Mader - Bass Joey LaCaze - Drums Mike IX Williams - Vocals EYEHATEGOD (also known as EHG) is an American band from New Orleans, founded by Jimmy Bower and a different line up in 1988. Soon after the group formed, Mike IX Williams became the 2nd vocalist and Joe LaCaze became the 2nd drummer, followed by Brian Patton on guitar. The band solidified in sound and style except for a revolving bassist position. Gary Mader joined in that capacity for a Japanese tour in 2002 and has remained there ever since. As one of the most influential bands to come from NOLA, they have noted Black Flag, The Melvins and Black Sabbath as a domineering and significant influence to their sound today. That combined with the sound of Southern Rock, Blues riffs and Hardcore Punk has made EYEHATEGOD one of the most reputable and distinctive bands ever, even defining a brand new genre now known as Sludge, though the band strays away from being labeled as such. ______________________________________________ FORMER MEMBERS • Chris Hilliard - Vocals • Joey DeLatte - Drums • Joe Fazzio - Drums • Kevin Bond - Bass • Steve Dale - Bass • Mark Schultz - Bass • Vince LeBlanc - Bass • Daniel Nick - Bass OFFICIAL BAND MEMBER LINKS: Mike IX Williams: http://www.mikeix.com http://www.myspace.com/nolanine http://www.facebook.com/MikeIXWilliams http://www.facebook.com/MikeIXSNF http://www.youtube.com/user/MikeIXWilliams http://www.twitter.com/MikeIXWilliams http://instagram.com/southernnihilismfront Jimmy: http://www.myspace.com/bowerpower9 http://www.facebook.com/jimmy.bower.31 http://instagram.com/jimmybowerpower https://twitter.com/bowerpower9 Brian: http://www.myspace.com/pattonhepb http://www.facebook.com/brian.patton.9659 Gary: http://www.myspace.com/ghawg http://www.facebook.com/gary.mader.3 http://www.youtube.com/ghawg Aaron: http://instagram.com/aaroncurtishill Joey: http://www.facebook.com/joe.lacaze.9 http://instagram.com/joelacaze OFFICIAL STORE: North America: http://www.emeticrecords.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1670 International: http://de.buckaneermerch.com/bands/eye-hate-god EᵪHᵪG Down To Earth Motherfucken Post Amplification Blues http://eyehategod.ee

The Barefoot Pedals Foundation was formed in 2011 to honor the legacy of Jeffrey David Nola. Jeff died in Baton Rouge, LA, on May 29, 2011, at the age of 35 after fighting a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer called Burkitts Lymphoma. The Foundation receives and distributes donations exclusively for charitable purposes, primarily for the Jeff Nola '94 Memorial Scholarship Fund, and charities that exemplify the values and characteristics Jeff lived his life promoting. While Jeffs presence may no longer be with us, his spirit is still alive and well. It is this spirit that composed and played the drumbeat he followed during his time here on earth. It took him to mission trips in the desert and mountains, it led him to a life of education, it led him to instill the love of music into hundreds of youths, and it led him to develop a deep faith in the power of spiritual ministry. In hopes of honoring this legacy, and to ensure that his drumbeat continues to be heard, several of us have created the Barefoot Pedals Foundation. Andrew Brown, Foundation President |

______________________________________________________
Via Costa Mesa and down into the belly of Echo Park, The Growlers are the party band that grew into a traveling circus of psychedelia that influenced Burger and Lolipop Records and even spawned their own festival, Beach Goth. It's a zonked-out, uniquely Californian vision of bleached blond hair and drunkard culture that many bands have imitated but none have managed to reproduce. Lead singer Brooks Nielsen draws the kind of devotion among Growlers fans that Jim Morrison once did. And they've built their cult following without a single album review in Pitchfork.
From their first LP Are You In or Out? (2009) to their latest LP Casual Acquaintances (2018), The Growlers have forged their own twisted path on the global music scene. They’re the party band that grew into a traveling circus that spawned their own hit event, Beach Goth. Lead singer Brooks Nielsen draws a particular devotion among Growlers fans, as does chief cohort Matt Taylor, The Growlers’ music director and lead guitarist. The band's 2016 LP, City Club, produced by Julian Casablancas, saw them expand their palette to include West African, dance and electronic influences |

______________________________________________________
"The road goes on forever ..."
It's not always easy to sum up a career - let alone a life's ambition - so succinctly, but those five words from Robert Earl Keen's calling-card anthem just about do it. You can complete the lyric with the next five words - the ones routinely shouted back at Keen by thousands of fans a night ("and the party never ends!") - just to punctuate the point with a flourish, but it's the part about the journey that gets right to the heart of what makes Keen tick. Some people take up a life of playing music with the goal of someday reaching a destination of fame and fortune; but from the get-go, Keen just wanted to write and sing his own songs, and to keep writing and singing them for as long as possible.
"I always thought that I wanted to play music, and I always knew that you had to get some recognition in order to continue to play music," Keen says. "But I never thought of it in terms of getting to be a big star. I thought of it in terms of having a really, really good career and writing some good songs, and getting onstage and having a really good time."
Now three-decades on from the release of his debut album - with eighteen other records to his name, thousands of shows under his belt and still no end in sight to the road ahead - Keen remains as committed to and inspired by his muse as ever. And as for accruing recognition, well, he's done alright on that front, too; from his humble beginnings on the Texas folk scene, he's blazed a peer, critic, and fan-lauded trail that's earned him living-legend (not to mention pioneer) status in the Americana music world. And though the Houston native has never worn his Texas heart on his sleeve, he's long been regarded as one of the Lone Star State's finest (not to mention top-drawing) true singer-songwriters. He was still a relative unknown in 1989 when his third studio album, West Textures, was released - especially on the triple bill he shared at the time touring with legends Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark - but once fellow Texas icon Joe Ely recorded both "The Road Goes on Forever" and "Whenever Kindness Fails" on his 1993 album, Love and Danger, the secret was out on Keen's credentials as a songwriter's songwriter. By the end of the decade, Keen was a veritable household name in Texas, headlining a millennial New Year's Eve celebration in Austin that drew an estimated 200,000 people. A dozen years later, he was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame along with the late, great Van Zandt and his longtime friend from Texas A & M, Lyle Lovett.
The middle child of a geologist father and an attorney mother, Keen was weaned on classic rock (in particular, the psychedelic blues trio Cream) and his older brother's Willie Nelson records - but it was his younger sister's downtown Houston celebrity status as a "world-champion foosball player" that exposed him to the area's acoustic folk scene. By the time he started working on his English degree at Texas A&M, he was teaching himself guitar and setting his poetic musings to song. That in turn led to a college fling with a bluegrass ensemble (featuring his childhood friend Bryan Duckworth, who would continue to play fiddle with Keen well into the '90s) and front-porch picking parties with fellow Aggie Lovett at Keen's rental house - salad days captured in spirit on the Keen/Lovett co-write, "The Front Porch Song," which both artists would eventually record on their respective debut albums.
While Lovett's self-titled debut was released on major-label Curb Records, Keen took the road less travelled, self-financing and producing 1984's No Kinda Dancer and leasing it to the independent label Rounder Records, which issued it on its Philo imprint. "It was difficult, because I didn't know what I was doing ... I literally opened up the phonebook and looked for studios," Keen recalls. "I basically put it all together through brute force and ignorance, but I was shocked with how well it worked out and very happy with it. We had a release party at Butch Hancock's Dixie Bar and Bustop, and Lyle and Nanci Griffith and a lot of those people who were a part of the Austin folkie scene came out."
Keen himself had already started to make quite a name for himself on that scene, thanks to four years of constant regional gigging and winning the Kerrville Folk Festival's prestigious New Folk songwriting competition in 1983. After his debut's release, he began touring more and more outside of the state lines, eventually moving to Nashville in 1986. Keen's stint in Music City, U.S.A., lasted just under two years, but he returned to Texas armed with a publishing deal, a new label (another indie, Sugar Hill), and a national booking agent. He closed the decade with 1988's The Live Album and the following year's West Textures, the album that marked the debut of "The Road Goes on Forever" and, not inconsequently, kicked his career into high gear.
With hindsight, Keen admits he no idea at the time of writing it that his song about a couple of ill-fated lovers running afoul of the law would have the legs it did, but he readily points to the forward thinking of DJ Steve Coffman of San Antonio radio station KRIO for helping to start the fire. "He talked the station into doing sort of a free-form programing format, basically anything he liked, which turned out to be some Texas music along with a lot of cool sort of pop music," he says. "So all of a sudden, I heard my song back-to-back with the Sheryl Crow song that was popular at the time, and that was the first time that I really felt like I was a real part of the music business, despite having been in it already for a pretty long time. And right after that, I went to a show in San Antonio and there were 1,500 people there - whereas up to that point I'd been playing to, max, maybe 150. That was the real ah-hah moment for me that really got me going and kept me going, because before that I'd been doing this for eight or 10 years and had a lot of rejection but very little success."
After that, though, success came in spades. Although he continued to steer clear of the Garth Brooks-dominated waters of the country mainstream, the perfect storm of Keen's literate song craft, razor wit and killer band (more on that in a bit) stirred up a grassroots sensation in Texas not seen since the '70s heyday of maverick "outlaw country" upstarts Willie, Waylon, and Jerry Jeff Walker. Armed with two more albums (1993's A Bigger Piece of Sky and '94's Gringo Honeymoon) brimming with instant classics like "Corpus Christi Bay," "Whenever Kindness Fails," "Gringo Honeymoon," "Dreadful Selfish Crime" and "Merry Christmas From the Family," he began packing dancehalls, roadhouses, theaters, and festival grounds with diverse crowds of rowdy college kids, serious singer-songwriter fans and plenty of folks who, like Keen himself, had been around the Texas music scene long enough to remember Willie's earliest 4th of July Picnics. And the phenomenon was not confined to the Texas state lines. Famed producer and pedal steel ace Lloyd Maines (Joe Ely, Terry Allen) helped Keen and his band bottle lighting on 1996's No. 2 Live Dinner, a next-best-thing-to-being-there concert document that remains one of Keen's best-selling albums, and the burgeoning Americana music scene (bolstered by AAA radio stations across the country and magazines like No Depression) embraced Keen as one of its prime movers. In the wake of albums like 1997's Picnic and '98's Walking Distance (both released on major-label Arista), one would have been hard-pressed to tell the difference between a rabid Robert Earl Keen crowd at Texas' legendary Gruene Hall and those at New York City joints like Tramps and the Bowery Ballroom. Little wonder, then, that when the songwriter-revering "Americana" style was officially recognized by the industry 1998, Keen was the genre's first artist to be featured on the cover of the radio trade magazine Gavin.
The '90s may have been a boom period for Keen, but his momentum hasn't ebbed a bit since the turn of the century - nor has his pursuit of continued growth as a writer and artist. If anything, his output from the last decade has been marked by some of the most adventurous music of his career. "Wild Wind," an unforgettable highlight from Gravitational Forces, his Gurf Morlix-produced 2001 debut for the Nashville-based Americana label Lost Highway, captured the character (and characters) of a small Texas town with a cinematic eye reminiscent of The Last Picture Show; but the album's title track also found Keen wryly experimenting with spacey, beatnik jazz. For the freewheelin', freak-flag-flying Farm Fresh Onions (2003, Audium/Koch), Keen and producer Rich Brotherton (his longtime guitarist) took the band into the proverbial garage to knock out their most rocking set of songs to date - most notably the psychedelic rave-up of the title track. Brotherton also produced the more rootsy but equally playful What I Really Mean (2005, E1 Music), but Lloyd Maines was back at the helm for 2009's eclectic The Rose Hotel and 2011's spirited Ready for Confetti (both released by Lost Highway). The later was especially well received by fans and critics alike, with AllMusic's Thom Jurek raving, "Ready for Confetti is, without question, Keen's most inspired and focused project in nearly 20 years." His latest project released in 2015, "Happy Prisoner: The Bluegrass Sessions" was a straight -ahead "love postcard to bluegrass". This was something Keen had wanted to do for a long time and it was now or never. Keen is ranked Billboard's No. 2, 2015 Bluegrass Artist of the year. His current recording, Happy Prisoner: The Bluegrass Sessions, charted as 2015's Top 5 album at Americana Radio and Billboard's 2015 No. 2 album on the Bluegrass Albums chart.
Earlier this year, Keen played three weeks of sold-out theater dates with Lyle Lovett, just two longtime college friends swapping songs on acoustic guitars like they used to do on Keen's front porch in College Station. But the lion's share of his concert schedule still finds him playing full-tilt with his seasoned road and studio band: Brotherton on guitar, Bill Whitbeck on bass, Tom Van Schaik on drums, and Marty Muse on steel guitar. "I've been with this band for 20 years now," Keen says proudly. "I used to think that was just sort of an interesting fact, but now it's almost a total anomaly - that just doesn't happen much. I always felt like once you lock into the right bunch of people, you try to do the best by them that you can. So we've been able to stay together a long time, and I think one thing that makes it worthwhile for people to come see us as an act is the fact that it's not like we're trying to work it all out onstage - we've already worked everything out."
REK has had the honor of working with music legends Dave Matthews, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Eric Church, Gary Clark, Jr. among others. He was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012. In March 2015, Robert Earl Keen was recognized as the first recipient of BMI's official Troubadour Award. Keen is an active member of NARAS and was invited to be a participant in the prestigious "Grammys On The Hill" where he sang the National Anthem at the opening ceremony and was a member of the delegation that lobbied US Congress to support musicians' rights, specifically the "Fair Pay for Fair Play Act".
But the road goes on and on, with no time for resting on laurels. Not that Keen's complaining. "I had a relatively open schedule for 2016 back at the beginning of the year, but it has just filled in like you wouldn't believe," he marvels during a rare day off in Kerrville, Texas (where he lives with his wife and two daughters). "I've broke my record this year - I've packed for five trips at one time, because I wasn't going to be starting any of them in the same place. It's been crazy!
It isn't always easy being Robert Earl Keen, but somebody's got to do it. And now more than ever, he's up to the task and loving every minute of it. |

You know you want this.
It’s been far too long since a heavy metal band could get the party started the way Attila can. Drinks will be pounded down, blunts will be blown, panties will be thrown, and everyone will have the time of their lives once the Atlanta quintet’s sixth full-length album, Guilty Pleasure [Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie], pipes through the speakers. Hell, you don’t even have to admit you love it—hence the title—but we know you will (or at least your girlfriend will)…
2013 became a landmark year for the group—Chris “Fronz” Fronzak [lead vocals], Chris Linck [guitar], Nate Salameh [guitar], Kalan Blehm [bass guitar, backing vocals], and Sean Heenan [drums]. Their fifth offering, About That Life, snatched #22 on the Billboard Top 200, #5 on the Independent Chart, #4 on the Hard Music Chart, and #5 on the Rock Chart, moving over 14,200 copies first week. In the midst of sold out headline shows around the States, the band began working on what would become Guilty Pleasure at the end of the year. This time around, Fronz possessed a clear vision that included embracing seven-string guitars, adopting lower tunings, and nodding to turn-of-the-century classics from Slipknot, Korn, and Limp Bizkit.
“We’re never going to write the same album twice,” he declares. “We’re always going to maintain our sound and style, but we bring something new to the table for our fans to keep it fresh and interesting. Lyrically, I expanded. It’s not all about partying and being crazy. I touched on some real shit. I dropped some knowledge. I wanted to be more real because I owe it to our audience. The songs are more meaningful.”
Once again, the boys retreated to the studio with Joey Sturgis [Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men] in Michigan. Together, they amped up everything across the board.
“It’s a heavier and more fun Attila,” smiles Fronz. “It’s rap metal at its finest. There are elements from our older albums as well as new flavors.”
That’s apparent on the first single “Proving Grounds”. The guys ignite an atomic hook bolstered by succinct riffing and a percussive slam. “’Proving Grounds’ are areas that the government would test nuclear and atomic bombs,” he goes on. “Anyone can relate to this because we all have doubters. You have to take that doubt and leverage it do better. Proving people wrong is the ultimate satisfaction.”
On “Rebel”, Fronz spits incendiary bars over a barrage of chugging jackhammer guitars. Everything culminates on an anthemic refrain that’s equally ballsy and blistering.
“It’s about being yourself, doing what you love, and not giving a fuck about what authorities, parents, or people tell you that you’re supposed to do,” he proclaims. “That’s an important message. You can’t always live by the rules. If you really want to do something, you just have to do it. I want to encourage kids to use their ambition and do what they love.”
Then, there’s “Horsepig”. Boasting brash delivery and another sizable groove, it’s a special one for Fronz as it proved to be a family affair. “My three-year-old son actually named that song,” he admits. “One day, I showed him a flashcard of a warthog. He knew what it was, but he wanted to change the name to ‘Horsepig’ since a warthog looks like a horse and a pig. Later that day, we wrote the song, and I had to use the word he invented for its title.”
Along the way, Attila have turned “party metal” into a bona fide art form. Formed in 2005, they’ve continually clawed their way towards heavy music domination. In addition to being a headliner on Warped Tour 2014 and touring alongside everybody from Suicide Silence to Asking Alexandria and Memphis May Fire, these mayhem mavens have sold over 100,000 records to date. They’re preaching a new kind of gospel too…
“Our generation is killing rock ‘n’ roll by writing all of this pussy-ass music,” he leaves off. “This kind of music is about breaking the rules and pushing the limits. That’s what Attila has done and we will continue to do. We’re breaking rules. We don’t give a fuck if people like us or not. We’re doing what we love and having the time of our loves. The world needs that. We’re happy to be your outlet. Have a fucking blast. We’re your Guilty Pleasure.” |

Few bands arouse a crowd into a collective shake like Flow Tribe. The six-member band’s onstage chemistry reflects a seamless combination of soul and movement that hits the audience within the first few notes. Virgin listeners and avid fans alike are drawn in by the distinctive sound that feels both familiar and original. From major festival stages around the world to leading a parade down the street, this is a group of professional musicians who’ve found their passion, and are living a dream where everyone’s welcome.
Second line brass and Cuban-Caribbean rhythms meld with R&B, soul, rock, and hip-hop beats in high-energy performances that turn every show into a celebration. New Orleans is influence itself, the unparalleled free and easy city weaving its way into track after track of original scores that make up a single definition of sound, which Flow Tribe has dubbed “backbone-cracking music.”
K.C. O’Rorke (vocals, trumpet), John-Michael Early (harmonica, washboard, vocals, keyboard), Nick Solnick (drums), Chad Penot (bass, vocals), Bryan Santos (guitar, timbales), and Mario Palmisano (guitar) are native New Orleanians and high school pals who’ve been writing music and playing live shows since the band’s inception in 2004. Post graduation, they went their separate ways, but after Katrina, each returned to their hometown, inherently becoming active members in the rebuilding of a community that’s stronger than ever.
In 2017 Flow Tribe teamed up with legendary Hip Hop producer Mannie Fresh (Lil Wayne, Big Tymers) to create the album “BOSS”. The album reached #55 on the Billboard R&B charts and #5 on the Relix/Jambands.com chart reflecting the diversity of sound represented on the album. After relentless touring, Flow Tribe completed building a state of the art studio in New Orleans called Downman Sounds. They are now putting the finishing touches on a 2-part EP coming out in late 2018 and 2019. |

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY
Zakk Wylde – Vocals/Guitar
John DeServio – Bass
Dario Lorina – Guitar
Jeff Fabb – Drums
Black Label Society bandleader Zakk Wylde wields his guitar like a Viking weapon, bashing out thick riffage and squeezing out expressive squeals as if the glory of his Berserker brotherhood depends upon every single note, which of course, it does.
Charismatic beast and consummate showman, Wylde puts his massive heart and earnest soul on display with unbridled, unchained, animalistic passion in Black Label Society, whether it’s a crushingly heavy blues-rock barnstormer or a piano-driven ode to a fallen brother. Each Black Label Society album is another opportunity to top the one before it, but like AC/DC or The Rolling Stones, BLS isn’t here to reinvent the wheel. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s a brand we can trust.
Mighty missives like “Damn the Flood,” “In This River,” “Stillborn,” “My Dying Time,” “Queen of Sorrow,” and “Blood is Thicker Than Water” have amassed millions of downloads and streams. They are the soundtracks to sweat soaked revelry, jubilant evenings that descend into bewildering mornings, and adrenaline fueled sports.
Grimmest Hits, the band’s tenth full-length studio album and follow-up to Billboard Top 5 entries Catacombs of the Black Vatican (2014) and Order of the Black (2010), Black Label Society submit new anthems like radio single “Room of Nightmares,” the bluesy “Seasons of Falter,” and Southern-fried “The Day That Heaven Had Gone Away” to the BLS faithful; 12 unstoppable tracks to add to that lifestyle soundtrack..
While members of esteemed rock and metal institutions like Alice In Chains, Metallica, Type O Negative, Clutch, Danzig, and Megadeth have passed through the band’s ranks, Black Label Society has consistently been defined by Wylde’s unmistakable voice and signature guitar sound and the steady rumble of bassist John DeServio. BLS is rounded out, in the studio and onstage, by guitarist Dario Lorina (since 2013) and powerhouse drummer Jeff Fabb (since 2012).
This is as much a band as it is a symbol of strength, honor, commitment, and diehard “society,” as evidenced by the legions of supporters who proudly donned the Black Label Society colors years before motorcycle culture was back in fashion.
Black Label Society are vigilant keepers of the hard rock n’ roll flame, protecting its sonic characteristics and vibe while engaging in reverent study of its chief architects. Given that Wylde’s kids’ are named Hayley Rae, Jesse John Michael (named after his Godfather, John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne), Hendrix Halen, and Sabbath Page, it’s clear that he takes his study of rock n’ roll’s greats very seriously.
To many, Wylde is synonymous with pinch harmonics as much as Chuck Berry dreamt up the duck walk. Zakk’s signature Les Paul Bullseye guitar hangs in the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. His infamous leather bellbottoms hang in the Grammy Museum. His handprints are on Hollywood’s Rock Walk of Fame. He’s performed the National Anthem at major sporting events. He wrote the 2013 Major League Baseball theme for ESPN. He even momentarily joined Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff in Guns N’ Roses. He is a playable character in the Guitar Hero games.
A lifelong disciple of Black Sabbath and the longest serving guitar-shredder for the Ozzman himself, Wylde co-wrote modern Ozzy Osbourne classics like “No More Tears,” “Mama I’m Coming Home,” “Road to Nowhere,” and “Miracle Man.” Together with Ozzy bassist Blasko and drummer Joey Castillo (ex-Queens Of The Stone Age), Wylde pays faithful tribute to the forefathers of metal as frontman for Zakk Sabbath.
Before he graced the cover of every meaningful guitar magazine on the planet, Zakk Wylde was a kid in New Jersey who picked up his instrument before he’d even hit high school. He was still a teenager when he got his demo tape into Ozzy’s hands. Together with the man he affectionately calls “the Boss” (and whose wife and manager, Sharon, he calls “Mom”), Wylde was part of the biggest selling album of the legendary Black Sabbath singer’s solo career, No More Tears, as well as the double-platinum Ozzmosis, and earned a Grammy for the live recording of “I Don’t Want to Change the World.”
One part invading horde and all parts traveling carnival party, Black Label Society traverses the world powered by caffeine and cacophony. BLS engages and inspires audiences everywhere they go, on every radio dial they burn, inviting all comers to join in and participate in their brotherhood and sisterhood of hard rock and vigor.
Now ten studio albums deep, with solo records, Ozzy shows, and Zakk Sabbath tours all kicking ass simultaneously, Black Label Society rides ever forward, fist held high. |

Born and raised in East Texas, Koe Wetzel is rapidly gaining momentum in the Texas scene. The band brings a strong mixture of southern rock energy and East Texas charm.
Koe began performing at an early age. Overnight, he had what seemed like an immediate fan base in his home state. He has since brought together this band and hit the road touring heavily. The band is made up of Koe Wetzel (Vocals/ Acoustic Guitar), Andres Rocha (Drums), Mason Morris (Harmony Vocals/Bass), Jerrod Flusche (Rhythm/Lead Guitar), and Michael Odis Parrish (Lead Guitar.)
As the band continued to play shows, Koe began writing in between performances. Bringing personal experience and inspiration from others to life with a melody was second nature to the young artist, “Being able to connect with an audience, or a fan, because they feel like they can relate to your lyrics is one of the coolest experiences in the world. There’s no greater feeling than hearing that your lyrics or your song mean something to someone.”
Koe Wetzel’s album, “Noise Complaint” was released in 2016 and the band has hit the studio to work on their sophomore album. |

_____________________________________________________
“Complacency is such a disease when you’re in a band,” says Tyler Connolly, singer and guitarist for Theory. “People are so afraid to progress, but you have to change—you can’t just write the same song over and over. So when I saw where this record was going, I said to the other guys, ‘We’re in a car and it’s going off a cliff. Do you want to jump out or ride it to the bottom?’“
With their sixth studio album, Wake Up Call, Theory hit the reset button, diving into a new sound, a new approach, even a new location. The more melodic, intimate style that defines the project is a bold move for one of the leading rock bands in the world. Since forming in British Columbia in 2001, Theory of a Deadman—Connolly, guitarist Dave Brenner, bassist Dean Back, and drummer Joey Dandeneau—have placed nine songs in the Top 10 on the rock charts, including the Number One hits “Bad Girlfriend,” “Lowlife,” “So Happy,” and “Angel.”
Following the success of 2014’s Savages album (which reached the Top Ten on the Hot 100 albums chart, and topped both the Alternative and Hard Rock charts), Connolly began writing again, but he was frustrated by what he was hearing. “The songs all felt like they were in the same place as the last record,” he says, “and I wasn’t happy, I just didn’t like what we were doing.”
He bought a piano for himself, an instrument he had never played, and he soon discovered that it was unlocking something new. “I started writing songs that felt musically different,” he says. “It opened my mind to different ideas, and I think that was the catapult for where this album went.”
But maybe this story starts much further back. Connolly’s father was a piano player, and he grew up surrounded by the sound of the keyboard. “As soon as I started noodling, thirty years of hearing my dad play opened up this whole thing that didn’t exist before,” he says. “There were sounds I heard my whole life but ignored, ingrained inside me.
“It was crazy how fast stuff came out of me,” he continues. “Every time I sat down at the piano, I would write a song. And I don’t think I’ve ever felt such freedom—I could write anything, I felt no fear about upsetting people or pressure to write any specific kind of song.”
Connolly noticed a shift not only in the melodies he was coming up with, but in the words as well. “When I finished the lyrics to ‘RX’ [the first single from Wake Up Call], I felt like I had something to say. I really wanted to write great lyrics, not just throw stuff on there or give the fans something to crank up in the car.”
The songs also tapped into a new sense of maturity, even contentment. “On our fourth record [2011’s The Truth Is…], I had just gone through a divorce and I was so angry, stuff came out that was really hateful,” he says. “This time, there’s much less aggro stuff—nothing comes from a place of spite or anger.”
Connolly and drummer Dandeneau worked up demos for the new songs via email, initially trying to make them “as naked as possible.” Only when they went into the studio did they think more consciously about how to present the new material; as Connolly says “to put the clothes on—like, ‘Does this one need jeans or a suit?’ “
The band’s next decisive move was to commit to a new producer for Wake Up Call. In fact, though, Martin Terefe—who has worked with a wide range of artists including Jason Mraz, Mary J. Blige, and Train—expressed interest in collaborating with them first. “Our label sent Martin some of the songs blind,” explains Connolly, “and he heard them and said, ‘Is this a pop artist?’ They told him no, it was the opposite, it was a rock band, and he said he wanted to do it.”
Theory headed to Terefe’s Kensaltown Studios in London for a grand experiment. “It was like a first date,” says Connolly. “He was on ground he was not comfortable with, and everything seemed so scary to us—everything he suggested was the opposite of what we wanted. We definitely had some sleepless nights, but we just had to jump in the water and go for it.”
Songs went into directions that surprised the band members. Dandeneau was especially taken with the sparse demo of a song called “Time Machine,” but in the studio it assumed a more breezy and rhythmic feel.
Listening back to the album on the final night before they headed home, the band got to the track “Loner” and suddenly felt dissatisfied. “It was just terrible!,” says Connolly. “We were all like, ‘What happened?’ So it’s the last night, we’re eating dinner, and we said, ‘Let’s just bang it out.’ We deleted it and started over, slowed it down and changed the key, and we finished that night. It was such a pat on the back to the band that after seven weeks, we knew we could track a whole song in a few hours.”
Connolly points to the song “Echoes” as a breakthrough for both his writing and his vocal performance. “It’s a very U2-ish song,” he says, “kind of that one-take, ‘Where the Streets Have No Name’ feel, and I’ve never really done that before. ‘Echoes’ really hits home with me—as you get older, you have more past and less future, more memories. It’s so hard to let go of all those past things, the things that I think about when I’m going to sleep.
“Martin made me sing in this big room with everyone else watching,” he continues. “It was so emotional, you can hear my voice cracking—I’d never had that hard a time getting through a song. But I felt such attachment to these songs, you can really hear it in my voice.”
In the year leading up to Wake Up Call, Theory released a series of unlikely covers—“Hallelujah” (which came out the week of Leonard Cohen’s death last November, though it had been recorded months earlier), Sting’s “Shape of My Heart,” “Cold Water” by Major Lazer. “Those were just me sitting at home bored, trying to get outside the box,” says Connolly. “They’re all so out of my element and so difficult to sing.”
One of these covers, Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” makes for an unexpected closing track on the album. “We had a bunch of great songs and didn’t need to throw in a cover,” says the singer, “but we thought this one could turn into something great.”
Now comes the challenge of integrating this new material alongside the band’s beloved catalogue on stage. “There’s a real dichotomy of Theory now, two very different sides,” says Connolly. “Not that we want to get away from our old songs, but the new songs are so diverse, such a juxtaposition. We’ve been playing ‘RX’ and it’s super-different, and we’ll add another couple in the fall tour. We’re really working on building a big show, and trying to make it all more visual, as well.”
Tyler Connolly knows that the ambitions of Wake Up Call—from its more atmospheric songs to its most propulsive and beat-driven—may meet with some resistance from Theory’s fan base. “It might be a little awkward, but we were always a songs band, not a sound band—we’re not AC/DC,” he says. “We’ve also been seeing that rock music was becoming smaller, more of an invite-only clique, and we really wanted to make something big and very progressive for us. And hopefully, the rest of the bands will cheer us on, and maybe be a little less afraid to try something different.” |

For Cowboy Mouth, the road goes on forever. Now approaching their third decade together, the New Orleans-based rockers continue to cement their reputation as celebratory, electrifying road warriors. They've played more than 3,000 shows to over 10 million fans, mixing the party-friendly punch of their hometown a city known for good times and even better music with a raw, rock s signature hit, Jenny Says, to the furious percussion supplied by the groups drummer and larger-than-life frontman, Fred LeBlanc, Cowboy Mouth shows remain legendary. A Cowboy Mouth concert is like a Southern gospel revival without the religion, says LeBlanc, who helped form the band in 1990. Nearly 30 years later, Cowboy Mouth continue to do their best work onstage, supplying their nightly congregation of rock from the 100,000 people who watched the band open for Aerosmith at Jazz Fest 2018, to the densely-packed audiences that have filled the bands club and theater shows for decades with a reminder that rock t just swagger, sweat, and stomp. It saves. Back in the 1990s, when rock was king and record labels were loaded, Cowboy Mouth released hit songs for MCA Records and Atlantic Records. MTV loved the guys. The radio loved them, too, with Jenny Says charging up the Top 40 hit on multiple Billboard charts. Even so, it was the bands touring schedule and live show that truly set them apart. When the recording industry took a nosedive during the 2000s, Cowboy Mouth continued flying high, creating an even tighter bond with their audience by releasing music on their own. They didn't need help from any record execs. After all, it was the bands fan base that had always supported Cowboy Mouth and today, its still the high-energy live show that keeps the crowds coming back. That live show will receive new fuel in 2019, when Cowboy Mouth releases an EP of original songs loaded with the same in-your-face, amplified attack that launched the bands career years ago. Joining Fred LeBlanc on the new record is the bands longtime guitarist John Thomas Griffith, who fronted the nationally-acclaimed group Red Rockers (and sang on their early-1980s MTV staple, China) before joining Cowboy Mouths original lineup. Also featuring bassist Brian Broussard and guitarist Matt Jones, Cowboy Mouths roster is stronger than ever: a lineup of four rock s unique gumbo of pop, Big Easy blues, soul, punk, and redemptive rock What we provide isn't just musical entertainment, LeBlanc explains. It's an experience. We're constantly looking to top ourselves, because thats just who we are. We're galvanizers. We're a bit hyperbolic. We're Cowboy Mouth. Cake Magazine said it best: On a bad night, they will blow the roof of the place. On a good night, Cowboy Mouth will save your soul.

_______________________________________________________

Must Be 18 Years Old or Older To AttendTwenty years and some 4,000 shows into his career, the name Wade Bowen has become synonymous with Texas country music and for good reason. An artistic descendant of American icons like Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen and more, Bowen is another link in a Texan chain of roots-rock poets stretching back more than 50 years but his ambition never ended at the state line.I will carry that flag proudly, Bowen says of his well earned Red-Dirt distinction. But Ive always said Im not a Texas artist, Im an artist from Texas, and I think theres a difference.Indeed, Bowen has showed the world that difference since 2001 by going big on integrity. Seen as one of the genres finest and most authentic modern voices, Bowens approach stays rooted in tradition, but also stands on the creative cutting edge. His focus remains on writing unique songs with a literary quality, and shifting his sonic territory to match his life. And while the hard-touring troubadour is constantly breaking new ground, his course was set early on.Born in Waco and schooled in the clubs surrounding Lubbocks Texas Tech University, Bowen was raised on a steady diet of hardscrabble country realism and rock showmanship. His mother loved Elvis, the Eagles and Creedence Clearwater Revival, while his father spun Texan giants like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. His first concert was a peak-theatrics Alabama show, but even then, it was the lyrics which spoke the loudest. He began writing poems and short stories as a boy, drawn to the page with a cant-help-it creative spark. And then in college, the songs came.Writing songs is just something you have to get out of you, its something you have to do, he says. I think its the same reason firefighters run into a burning house to save someone, its a calling. You cant really be taught, you just have to have that instinct. In Lubbock, Bowen was skilled enough with a guitar to harbor secret dreams of stardom. But his journey truly started after one fateful night out, experiencing something like musical enlightenment.I thought the way to be an artist was to graduate college, then move to Nashville to wait tables and wait my turn in line, Bowen explains. But when I saw Robert Earl Keen in concert, it changed my life forever. It was like Wait. Hes playing his own stuff? And he doesnt have a major record deal? And the place is sold out? People were going crazy, and it was like I dont have to wait? I can do this now? I literally went home and found some buddies, and we started jamming.Bowen soon claimed his place as West 84s front man, then went solo and found a home in now-iconic haunts like Stubbs Barbecue and The Blue Light. He arrived amid a literal explosion of Texas country artists. But combining all his influence together, always stood out.

Must Be 18 Years Old or Older To Attend FUTUREBIRDS Thursday, March 2nd With Special Guest KILLER WHALE Doors Open at 7PM Show Starts at 8PMTickets are $15 in Advance and $20 Day of ShowAvailable at www.VarsityTheatre.com Rock juggernaut Futurebirds newest EP, Bloomin Too, is a benchmark that not only celebrates 13 years together, its also a testament to the sheer iron will of a group of musicians hungry for the fruits of its labor.Futurebirds is the best its been right now, far and away, says singer/guitarist Carter King. Weve been unintentionally carving out our own space since the beginning, since we never exactly fit in anywhere else musically. We were always too indie rock for the jam festival, too country for the indie scene, a little too psych-rock to feel like we were Americana. The music over the years just kind of created its own weird little ecosystem its thriving and it feels great. The Athens, Georgia-based group once again tapped storied My Morning Jacket guitarist/producer Carl Broemel in the latest chapter of this seamless, bountiful partnership that initially came to fruition with the 2021 EP, Bloomin.Carl is extremely perceptive and an all-around smart dude. Hes really in tune with what the band is and what it strives to be. Hes engaged and understands our vision, King says. Hes a longtime hero of ours, and now is a friend and collaborator. Its wild. And its great to be able to defer to someone you respect so much with creative decisions in the studio we dont just give that trust to just anybody.Captured this past spring at the legendary Ronnies Place in Nashville, Tennessee, the seven-song Bloomin Too is a vortex of sonic textures. The album ricochets from cosmic space, rock to rough around the edges, alt-country dreamscapes, sandy beach bum odes to kick in your step pop ballads all signature tones and musical avenues at the core of the Birds wide musical palette. This is probably the quickest turnaround weve ever had for a record we felt confident right when we got into the studio and just cranked it out, says singer/guitarist Daniel Womack. All of our frequencies are aligned as a band, where weve got this free-flow of ideas happening. Were all on the same page right now and we have a lot of momentum going. For Broemel, he finds a sincere kinship and solidarity with Futurebirds. Witnessing first-hand the bands blue-collar work ethic in the studio, Broemel was impressed and inspired by the Birds democratic ways and means in how music is created and cultivated in the studio.Futurebirds have this unique vibe with three singer-songwriters in the band, where everyone is constantly shifting their function depending on the song, Broemel says. Everyone just kind of falls into place and finds something to contribute. Someone will lead the charge on one song, then fall back and let another take charge on the next its something rare to see and behold in rock music, where normally theres just one songwriter and one leader.

Must Be 18 Years Old or Older To AttendZOSOThe Ultimate Led Zeppelin ExperienceFriday, April 14thDoors Open at 8pmShow Starts at 9:30pmTickets are $22 in AdvanceAvailable at www.VarsityTheatre.comOver the 28 years and over 4500 shows since ZOSO came together as a group in the mid-90s, the seemingly tireless quartet continues to earn its well-deserved reputation as being, in the words of The L.A. Times, head and shoulders above all other Led Zeppelin tributes. The reasons for that are manifest. For starters, surely no singer has ever captured the distinctive timbre, range, power, and seductive force of Robert Plants vocal delivery as adroitly as ZOSOs lead vocalist and founder, Matt Jernigan, whose flowing, corkscrew blonde locks and leonine stage moves evoke the Plant persona perfectly. ZOSO co-founder Adam Sandling, the bands multi-instrumental master of electric bass, keyboards, and mandolin, likewise echoes John Paul Jones myriad gifts to a tee, allowing the four-piece ZOSO to perform fully fleshed-out versions of classics like Kashmir, Trampled Under Foot, and Stairway to Heaven that demand up to six members or more to execute in other Zep-inspired ensembles. Thats not the ZOSO way; instead, the band draws liberally and meticulously from Led Zeppelins recorded live output to present a vivid performance picture of the classic live Zeppelin of 1970-1977. No wonder the St. Petersburg Times noted that, in addition to their virtuosity and spot-on visual presentation, ZOSO was also the most exacting of all the Led Zeppelin tributes. Meanwhile, the bands new blood has turbo-charged the ZOSO formula even more. Drummer Bevan Davies, the bands burly, black-haired batteur since 2015, flattens the bands fans nightly with his Bonham-approved triplet blasts, tympani thunder, and fat, lumbering grooves. Davies boasts an impressive pedigree that includes touring tenures with the likes of Danzig, Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Static X, and regular gigs with The Cults Billy Duffy. Taking on the demanding Jimmy Page chair for ZOSO in May of 2021, new lead guitarist James Volpe Rotondi (aka Jimmy) brings an equally high-level CV to the table, as a former member of Humble Pie, Mike Pattons Mr. Bungle, and French superstars AIR. Decked out in Pages iconic dragon matador jacket, two-tone shoes, and cascading black hair, Rotondi wields his Gibson Les Paul and double-neck guitars like he was born to it, with a huge, crafted tone and a stunning technique that weaves together Pages roots in blues, country, funk, and fingerstyle. Still, while the players provenance, and the bands deep history, speak for themselves, its that high-wire musicianship combined with ZOSOs spot-on recreation of the mythic presence of Led Zeppelin onstage that keeps their dedicated longtime fans coming back for more year after year. Whats more, new generations of ZOSO devotees in their teens and Twenties are likewise lining up to experience for themselves the power and majestyand yes, the alluring combination of danger, spontaneity, skill, and sexualitythat define a world-class Led Zeppelin concert.

Vertical Horizon released three albums independently (There and Back Again, Running on Ice, and Live Stages) and toured extensively before signing with RCA Records in 1998. In 1999, they released their breakout album, Everything You Want, which went on to sell more than two million copies. The second single off the CD, the title track Everything You Want, captured the #1 spot on Billboards Hot 100 and Adult Top 40 charts, and became Billboards Most Played Single of 2000. Having carved out a page in the annals of music history the band garnered further radio attention with Youre a God (#4 on Billboards Adult Chart) and Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning). In 2005, Best I Ever Had became a top 20 country hit for country star Gary Allan.Their follow-up album, Go, was released in 2003 and solidified the band as a no-nonsense pop rock entity. Eventually, the band took a hiatus to pursue individual interests. In 2007, feeling the time was right to start working on a new album, Matt began composing the songs which would eventually become Burning the Days. The album was released in 2009 on Vertical Horizons own label, Outfall Records. One of the songs, Even Now, was co-written by Scannell with his close friend Neil Peart, the much-heralded drummer from Rush. Peart played drums on that song as well as two other tracks on the record. Burning the Days was critically acclaimed and produced two Hot AC radio singles, Save Me from Myself and The Lucky One. In 2013, Vertical Horizon released Echos From the Underground, named after a lyric from the song Evermore. In addition to writing and producing songs for Vertical Horizon, Matt has spent the past few years writing songs with and for other artists. In 2010, he wrote Wish You Were Here for the band Hey Monday, featuring lead singer Cassadee Pope, who went on to win season 3 of NBCs hit show The Voice. In 2012, Scannell teamed up with Daniel Powter to write Come Back Home, which was used to promote NBCs Chicago Fire. Scannell and Grammy-winning songwriter/producer Richard Marx collaborate often and sometimes play acoustic duo shows together. They co-wrote Marxs 2012 AC hit When You Loved Me, which reached number 15 on the Adult Contemporary Chart.
